Giordan uncapping machine with heated vibrating knives is a professional device designed to replace the manual comb uncapping process.

The device is made of food-grade AISI 304 stainless steel. It processes comb frames by automatically feeding them between two vibrating knives heated with hot water. This system ensures precise, high-quality cutting of the wax caps (cappings).

Unlike some other systems, this machine does not shred the wax caps; it cuts them off as would be done with a manual uncapping knife.

With an additional set of double knives (ordered separately) installed, there is no need for further manual reworking of the comb frames after the first uncapping pass.

Operating principle

The knives are heated by an integrated hot-water heating and recirculation system, which is included. The knife temperature is controlled by a thermostat.

Since the knives also work within the inner area of the wooden frame, the device can effectively uncap even partially filled comb frames.

The gap between the knives is adjusted quickly and easily with a special lever on the side of the machine. It allows you to narrow or widen the gap between the knives according to comb thickness.

After the operator manually inserts a comb frame, the system automatically guides it between the knives, ensuring uniform uncapping from both sides.

After uncapping, the frames slide onto a special collecting frame and are conveniently stacked for further processing.

An uncapping table can be placed under the frame, as shown in the photo. The frame length can be adapted to the length of the table used.

Note

In the standard configuration, the device is made for Dadant Blatt type comb frames. Upon customer request, by providing the frame dimensions, it can be manufactured for other types of comb frames as well.
