Horizontal queen excluder made entirely of metal. The horizontal setup is used in multi-storey beehives.

Thanks to the precise bar spacing, the excluder prevents the queen bee from passing through, while worker bees pass freely. This lets you clearly separate the brood nest from the honey supers.

A queen excluder makes hive inspections much easier and, during honey extraction, reduces the risk of accidentally taking a frame with brood. It is also widely used in queen rearing.
